Jennifer, the science behind The Tipping Point comes from the research of Everett Rogers, captured in his book, Diffusion of Innovations. Both of these treatments were about new ideas. I wonder about bad ideas or unworkable ideas sold well. I think this is part of what Devaraj is getting at. I'd have to go back and check, but I suspect that one of the conditions for the acceptance of a new idea or any idea is an awareness of the context that it is being applied to.

Such as , most people today are not breast fed for more than six months , when the human race for millenia was breastfed for at least probably first four years of life ( or they died ) - my mom always says " you don't have to explain all the reasons , just pick ONE reason " but that is the way she thinks . At least , maybe that penetrates reality the best , one main point of rationale . Most situations are conundrums , or compilations - I am not really taking a position - except for one thing , which is that people who have stalled development , such as Bill Gates and Autism , or Trump and Narcissism , need to be understood as singular in their thought process and approach to stories , short term they will make headway , long term can do a lot of damage .
I thought I've been having recently is why don't we just let women take over running the world. I mean, without being critical to men, they've done some great stuff over the last couple of millennia, but maybe it's time to try something else.
well , the only thing I am going to say is that being born a woman does not make a person a woman . Female essence comes from actually having children , nursing , feeding , loving , educating , that is physically training the person to actually become that idea of female . So you can't take a person and also there are men who care , love , give and are more nurture based than many women . Mother's do run "the world " - but the world is their own universe .
