On a specific point with the numbers side of things, I REALLY want to believe that there's something in all the numerology stuff. I certainly sense that there is a divine beauty in mathematics. But I cannot get around the problem I see that the sort of thing you refer to with the 358 vs 3:5:8 example, is that this only works in decimal, not other bases. Given that I don't see anything divine/special in Base 10, such and example seems to be no more than an artefact/coincidence to me.
