The Headless Osiris and the New Aeon
Ancient Egypt, Liber AL and the Rosicrucian Mission
Let’s just do this point by point:
Egyptologist J.C. Darnell’s recent deciphering of tomb writings sheds new light on how the Egyptian underworld was meant to function. Allow me to take a free-form look at what this points to.
The Headless Osiris is unrestrained libidinal energy – the life-force of the universe.
Unrestrained because it has no head, thus no name and no direction.
The Underworld is the place of circular time, governed by Aeon.
Just as it is the place from where the new day is born, so it is the place from where, every two thousand years, a new Aeon is born. Certain conditions must be met for these events to happen.
The bodies that litter the floor of the Underworld are ours.
Death is not an end, but a cryptic puzzle that the seemingly living must solve, less they be “trampled” by the gods and erased from the memory of the universe in the “second death.”
Stele 666, the inspiration behind Crowley’s Book of the Law, depicts the Headless Osiris united with Ra, the sun-god who descends into the Underworld each night.
Ra takes his place as Osiris’s head at midnight. The united Ra-Osiris dissolves in triumph as the new day or new aeon dawns.
An hour before dawn, Ra-Osiris stands as a column of pure energy, head in heaven and feet in hell. In this state, he does what is necessary to create the new day or new aeon.
He is Ra Hoor Khuit – the wrathful version of Horus depicted in Chapter 3 of the Book of the Law.
The Rosicrucians are charged with putting Ra’s head on Osiris’ body, such that the new aeon can be born and the universe continue.
To do this, they must get human bodies to absorb sunlight from food and allow it to circulate in their bloodstream and head.
This “enlightening” is the recreation of Ra-Osiris which will soften the changeover to the new aeon.
The aeon that is ending is the Piscean Era.
This is marked by a subjective perspective that is a hardened sense of personal identity created by constant attachment to thinking.
This hardened “I” creates a sense of world, God and devil in order to function and maintain itself.
The two fishes of the Pisces symbol represent the overt duality of this perspective.
The aeon that is coming is the Aquarian Era.
Aquarius, unlike its predecessors Pisces and Aries, is a human figure who carries water.
This indicates that the new self, currently being birthed, will not be so much a subject of experience but rather a container of consciousness.
The rampant narcissism that is currently visible in our society is the last gasp of the old Piscean subjectivity before it is subsumed by the new Aquarian identity as the aeon is reborn
