It's Unrealistic to Expect Thinkers to Agree with One Another

People wonder how to create agreement between each other. In a world where many of us think more and more, and feel less and less, that just isn’t going to happen. It’s impossible. The more we rely on thinking, the less we will agree. It could almost be a law of physics, like gravity or something.
Why?
Because if all you have is thinking, then thinking has to fulfil your intrinsic need for individuality and meaning. Which means that you have to identify strongly with your beliefs. They are no longer something fluid and changeable, as new ideas or evidence emerges. No, they have become your very identity. You become willing to fight to the death for your beliefs.
As a race, we are becoming progressively more dissociated from the body. Regardless of whether you believe this is good or bad, one effect of this is inevitable increased conflict. That’s because, as we come across a position counter to our own, to the dissociated mind it appears to present a level of threat far higher than to a mind that is more grounded. A contrary position on social media in 2023 feels the same as an armed warrior steaming into your home five hundred years ago!
As we spend more and more time looking at screens, so there will be more and more conflict. These things are in a relationship with one another. And this has to be accepted. If you want more peace in the world, the only real option is to become more present in your body.
It is simply unrealistic to believe that more thinking will solve the immense problems ongoingly being created our already excessive thinking. It’s like an addict believing that this one hit will be his or her last!
To the mind that is immersed in the sense of the body, and comfortable with human emotions, positions contrary to our own present little threat. It’s like “Oh, that’s interesting,” rather than “How dare you!” From this grounded perspective we can begin to heal ourselves and our world.
In the ego world , there must be agreement to have non conflict , but in the ether spirit world, there is plenty of room for everyone to disagree , and still be able to fly !
