Dev's May Newsletter
I'm back in the UK for a couple of weeks and feeling a bit hungover this morning. As I get older, I find that reconnecting with people from my past is increasingly important to me, so last night I was hanging out with an old buddy from my punk days, back in the eighties and nineties. I was one of a heap of dubious characters who used to frequent one specific pub in Wardour Street. What actually surprised me, chatting away to this friend for hours, was how many people my mind has actually forgotten. He would tell me about such and such a character, and I'd remember the nickname but couldn't picture them. This morning, I'm starting to see all these odd people from my past come floating back in.
I'm still writing away, back in the novels groove. I've churned out two now since the end of January. Some kind of novel-writing daemon appears to have entered my psyche and I must do its bidding! I am learning to negotiate with it though, such that it doesn't entirely hijack my life. I now get weekends off and just commit to x thousand words a day. Check out the two novels of my Lemurian Pushback series, if you're interested. In classic drug-dealer style, I'm making the first one free, for a little while, to hook people in.
Anyway, whilst back here, I'm running a workshop this Sunday on Bioenergetics. And I'll be back at Leela in June for a 3-day one too. Summer is coming. Life in Istanbul feels good, especially with these occasionally forays back to this benighted isle. I want to travel around Iraq, which is back welcoming tourists now, once the heat decreases.
I send you love and best wishes
